Overshadow: for the Boy Bartholomew, Still Wearing His Skin, is a series of drawings and a sculpture following the uncertain adventures of a young St. Bartholomew. This project draws on children's book illustrations and illuminated manuscripts but amplifies their scale and envisions a fragmented narrative.

According to tradition, St. Bartholomew was martyred by flaying. This ominous conclusion haunts the early story, where a young boy catches fire, turns to glass, or is absorbed into light. These fantastical scenes, articulated by the visual intensity and physical fragility of pastel and silverpoint, play between whimsy and a foreshadowing of the path ahead. Marked throughout by vulnerability, these artworks navigate the sometimes perilous endeavor of holding on to hope.
